There is interdependence that resides at the core of an arts community, an interactive relationship between a choir and its audience--one cannot exist without the other. While the mission of the Choral Society is to provide classical choral experiences for its audience, the Choral Society itself cannot exist without support from the very audience it serves. We greatly appreciate the contributions that allow us to continue to provide quality musical experiences for the State College area.

The Choral Society has a number of endowment funds established to ensure the future of our organization. Please stipulate which fund you wish to receive your endowment donation:

D. Douglas Miller Endowment Fund
The State College Choral Society is fortunate to have an endowment fund, established by an anonymous donation of $50,000 in 1999 in honor of long-time and beloved musical director, D. Douglas Miller. The SCCS Board made the decision to not use the interest earned from this endowment until the principal reaches $100,000.

Diamond Endowment Fund
This fund was established in 2008 to support general operations.

McLane Guest Soloist Fund
Paulette & Rogers McLane established this fund in 2008 to help cover the costs of soloist fees.

Centre County Community Foundation
SCCS has three endowment funds within the Centre County Community Foundation. Donations to any of these funds may be submitted to CCCF, P.O. Box 648, State College, PA 16804.

State College Choral Society Fund
Established in 2003, this fund reached the level  in 2008 where SCCS now receives annual dividends. This fund supports general operations of the Choral Society.

DeJong Oratorio Fund
Established by long-time Choral Society member Gordon DeJong and his wife Caroline to underwrite costs for the performance of full scale oratorios.

Youth Chorale Festival Fund
This, the newest fund in our portfolio, was established by tenor Arthur Curtze to underwrite youth outreach efforts—future members in training!

For more information on how best to make your contribution, contact SCCS Treasurer Janet Haner by phone (814) 861-1277 or email j.haner@comcast.net.
