SCCS will collaborate with the State College Municipal Band directed by maestro Darrin Thornton to perform Celebrations, written for chorus and wind ensemble by famed American composer (and Pennsylvania native) Vincent Persichetti. Also on the concert program will be Persichetti’s Divertimento for Band, Festive Overture, by Shostakovich and Eric Whitacre’s Sleep, combining SCCS and Municipal Band forces.
